Selection of the finalists
After the closing date for the nominations, the Advisory Committee, comprising the members of the Advisory Council from InfoPower and InfoEnviro, will evaluate the nominations and select three projects by category, hereinafter "the finalists". This Council is composed of members who do not belong to any company (its composition will be announced shortly), and represent a broad section of the energy and environmental communities.
Notice to finalists
iiR España will contact the finalists immediately after the decision of the Advisory Council to communicate its status as finalists and will request more information about the company, the project and the professional careers of each finalist, so that the jury has all the elements necessary to deliver its verdict.
If any of the chosen finalists defers, it will be replaced by the company/project/person that was in the position immediately following according to the Advisory Council votes.
iiR España will reveal the names of the finalists in both the digital and printed publications of InfoPower and InfoEnviro. Additionally, they will also be uploaded to the Awards’ website.
Popular vote
After choosing the finalists, there will a period starting at midnight on the 14th of September 2012; and ending on the 29th of October 2012. During this period, any person may vote through the Awards website (www.eeawards.eu). The candidate with most votes in each category will receive the so-called "popular vote". This point will be added to the votes from the jury.
Votes from the jury
The jury will review and assess each of the finalists’ projects according to the following procedure:
Each member of the jury will vote for one of the 3 finalists of each category.
Final decision
The point from the popular vote will be added to the jury's votes. The winner of each category will be the candidate that has most votes.
As an exception, iiR España will be able to directly appoint the winner of any category only if (i) due to exceptional circumstances, the jury has not determined any winner, or (ii) the jury has refused to select a winner in one or more of the categories.
Notification of the winners
The winners, one for each category, will be announced during the award giving ceremony which will be in Madrid in late November 2012.
